Well the countdown begins. In 5 days I’ll be hitting the road and yes I am excited.
Problem is I don’t know what I’m more excited about, the ride or visiting with friends I haven’t seen in years. Just think I will be riding with the same crew I rode with almost 40 years ago. Some I haven’t seen in that long, others it has been about 15 years, the waiting is really starting to suck.
But today (after I mow the lawn) I have a lot to do to the bike to get ready. I will be checking the whole bike out from the front tire to the rear. I’ll be doing an oil and filter change using the Mobil 1 V-Twin synthetic oil and Supertec oil filter. Transfer case oil will also be changed. Then the fun part cleaning and detailing every inch of the bike. I plan on taking pics as I go along so if any new Road Star owners happen to my site they can see what the oil change and transfer case oil change look like, hell I might even do a short video or two and post them up on YouTube.
Of course I plan on taking a lot of pics on my trip. I’m hoping I can tape an interview or two while I’m there also. I think it would be pretty interesting to hear the views of those that have been riding for around 50 years, plus I do know the founder of A.N.U.S. (American National Unicycle Society) after all and you know his story will be off the hook.
Well I’m out of here for now. Time to mow and then get to doing the second thing I love most so I can do what I love most in 5 days.
